I wouldn't argue with any of these until the last one. Rural communities of Minnesota make it much more Red than it was when I was growing up. Seems the Iowa may be the bluest midwest state.

I struggled with the last label I agree that rural MN is very very red, as someone who grew up and lived in rural MN. However, I love that MN will elect people like Franken, Pawlenty, Bachmann and Ventura. It's the flexibility of who can be elected that makes MN much more engaging and fun than a solidly one-sided state. So maybe Politics of one-sided ND vs. Variety of elected leaders in MN?
